Youth In Families Leadership Program - West Neighbourhood House

The Newcomer Youth Program at West Neighbourhood House is currently looking for participants to join Youth in Families Winter Program. The program is set to start on Friday, February 21, 2025 from 2:30PM to 4:30PM online via Zoom . There are 5 sessions for newcomer youth. Please see the attached flyer.

The Youth in Families Summer Program aims to support newcomer youth (permanent residents and convention refugee, age 13 to 24) in learning skills and insights about their immigration and settlement experiences. The program has an emphasis on the issues of family reunification in Canada and newcomer challenges and resiliencies.

The program will cover the following 5 topic areas:

1) Identity and belonging
2) Family Dynamics and Conflict Resolution
3) Communication and Healthy Relationships
4) Mindfulness and Self-Care
5) Mental Health and Well-being

Each topic area will be covered each week and will consist of workshop presentations and interactive activities.
