Caregivers – Training and Education Series for 2024-25 - West Neighbourhood House

The Training and Education series at West Neighbourhood House supports caregivers by teaching skills to manage stress, balance their duties as a caregiver with that of their own life, and develop strategies when facing challenges in their role.

The sessions will be held at 248 Ossington Ave., 5:00 to 6:30 pm. In-Person or hybrid on Zoom. Respite care will be available upon request at the Adult Day Program or at Adult Day Service@home.

Engaging in self-care practices is essential for caregiver’s personal well-being and also for the quality of care they provide. Participating in activities like yoga and group dynamic can be highly beneficial. Taking place at Trinity Bellwoods Park.

 

WORLD ALZHEIMER’S DAY – September 21st

World Alzheimer’s Day, which takes place every September 21st, is a global effort to raise awareness and challenge the stigma around Alzheimer’s disease and other dementia. Please join us for a special session.

 

THE ROLE OF ONTARIO HEALTH AT HOME IN CARING FOR A LOVED ONE AT HOME – October 1st

Learn about in-home community services available to caregivers from OHaH, including: Home Care, PSW’s, OT Assessment, caregiver relief and respite, Long-Term Care application and the opportunity to ask questions about the home care system in Toronto. OLDER ADULT CENTRE (OAC) – October 22nd
